Course Syllabus
ELA in 8th grade focuses on critical thinking in both writing and conversations. The goal is for students to gain different perspectives from different people and gain insight for why people have different ideas and ways of looking at the world. Students will be asked to keep an independent reading book, demonstrate their comprehension by completing reading responses, and participate in class tasks and conversations. We will be reading, writing, and thinking all year.
